There are many places to get beer-making supplies. If you are planning on brewing more than a couple of batches of beer you may want to purchase your supplies in bulk. If you buy in bulk you will often get a discount price and can therefore save more money on brewing each batch. Keep in mind, however, that some ingredients may spoil or go bad in time, so it’s always best to keep just the ingredients on hand that you will be using in about a month or two.

Beer making supplies and kits are often found at your local liquor store. Most often found in starter and refill kits, these don’t allow for much variation. As you start to branch out and want to try new types of brews you will need to locate suppliers that offer a larger array of ingredients. Starter beer making kits are also available through many online shops. Once you have tried making beer and know that you like it you may want to upgrade some of your beer making equipment. You can get any piece of equipment separately through one of the many beer-making supply houses.

Hops, barley and yeast are the main ingredients you will need to brew any beer recipe. Look in your local phone book to locate a supply store. If there isn’t one near you, don’t worry. These supplies are easily found online. There are many reputable beer making supply companies. Look for those that offer information along with their ordering information. Often these companies have information pages and question and answer forums that you can get involved in. These forums are particularly helpful for the beginning brewer. Keep in mind that hops, barley and yeast are ingredients that don’t keep too long. Order only the amount that you can use within a month or two.

Other supplies you will need on an ongoing basis are bottles and caps. There are many styles and types of bottles you can use for your beer. Remember that amber bottles help to keep out the harmful UV rays that can cause beer to lose its taste. Again, look for online bottle suppliers. You will find that you can save some money by ordering a large supply of bottles that you can use for the next several batches of beer.

Do you want to to improve the results from your home beer brewing? You must read these top tips to home beer making.

Here are the four top tips to home beer brewing that are guaranteed to help you in your home beer making so you are sure to brew better than you ever thought possible.

1. Choose the right kind of yeast.

Just as a chef needs to use the right ingredients to produce the best tasting dish, the same is true for brewing to produce the best tasting ale. In home beer making the type of yeast you use is responsible for a large part of the flavour so it is critical to choose the yeast according to the type of beer you wish to produce.

2. In brewing temperature is critical.

Don’t be tempted to brew at a higher temperature to speed up the fermentation process, this is a common mistake often made by those that get a little impatient with their brewing and fermenting. There is only a small temperature window to use when brewing, make sure you don’t stray out of it.

3. Don’t become a sugar brewer.

So many homebrew beer makers think adding more sugar produces a stronger brew. In fact for most beers it is better not to use any sugar at all. Far better to use pure malt. You may be surprised to learn that until recently it was not allowed to brew beer in Germany using sugar.

4. Clean, Clean, Clean.

Yea I know, nobody likes cleaning, that may be why the single biggest mistake made in brewing is not keeping the brewing equipment scrupulously clean. If you don’t already know how, it is worth learning how to professionally clean your home beer making equipment and buying the right products to do it efficiently.

No matter what your experience in home beer making you will be sure to benefit by considering these tips when preparing your next home brew beer.

If you are serious about producing excellent homemade beer it is worth considering one of the many courses or books available for home beer making

If you just follow a few very easy step you easily make your own wine or beer with the homebrew kits that are available in the marketplace today, there’s a variety of kits for beer and wine making around, even a newbie wine or beer maker can start making there own home brew concoctions.

Wine and beer making kits come with all the essential equipment that’s needed for making wine or beer with the added bonus of the main ingredients being provided. A really higher grade of grape concentrates will be used as one of the main ingredients, and if you want to produce a high quality wine then you should obtaining grapes from the northern regions of Italy, the climates much cooler so you’re able to produce high quality wine from your home wine making escapades. It’s possible to make a unique wine or beer with a great flavour that will more than satisfy many wine or beer drinkers, it really is quite easy to produce a great wine or beer from these kits that are available. Most instruction guides specify that you only will need the fruit but you’re going to need, yeast, sugar and additives along with the kit which will have all the necessary gear which includes a 3 or 6 gallon kit.

Making your own beer or wine will be carried out in four main steps, its you’ll do the initial fermentation, 2nd you’ll stabilize and give the wine clarification then bottling the wine.

The great thing with using wine or beer making kits, is that you’ll not only have all the gear and equipment but some companies that sell the kits may even throw in a few extra cases of beer. These kits can cost any thing between $80 and $150 and is dependent on the amount of beer or wine that you’ll want to brew. You’ll some times find that some kits have a secondary fermenter with ingredients. Having a secondary fermenter will let you conditioning the beer and clarify it, so that the sediment that have been created can be removed, it really doesn’t take long to brew five gallons worth of homebrew, it will take a period of four hours in total, two hours for boiling and setting up time for the beer or wine in the fermented, and the other two hours for bottling and capping the homebrew. When brewed, your homebrew beer or wine can be ready for consumption between a period of three to four weeks. All five gallons beer and wine kits will need a four to five gallon brewing pot so you’re able to brew two cases of wine which is around 12 bottles.

When you first take on the process of home brewing, it may seem complicated but is quite simple and after you’ve made a few batches it will become really easy and you’ll be able to do it with your eyes closed, just joking. You’ll first of all need to heat the water; you then turn the heat off and add dry malt extract into the brewing pot which should consist of grains of tied muslin. You’ll then reapply the heat and really boil up the brew, then add bittering hops and leave to boil. Then put the last bag of muslin bag and hop in and the wort in after five minutes, right at the end of the boil. Leave the pot to cool right until the pot is not too hot to touch, and then sanitize the wort and then spoon.

You’ll need to add around 2.5 gallons of cold water to your sanitized bucket and then put the decant to cooled wort into the fermenter, lid the bucket and rock the sealed bucket off and on for around five minutes. Last of all you’ll put the fermenter at a temperature of between 65 and 75 degrees, bottle your bear or wine after you’ve siphoned it from the fermenter and into a bottle allowing the beer or wine to condition for around two to three weeks, once finished you can then enjoy.

Do you like to make your own beer? I do. But my husband is on contract in a country where any form of alcohol is illegal and I spend most of the year with him. This means that those of us who love beer have to quietly make our own.

The big problem lies in the fact that beer making equipment and beer brewing ingredients are just not available and may not be imported.

What to do?

One starts off by buying several dozen bottles of 750ml juice with swing top lids. Then of course you have to drink it all. By the time you have managed to drink half the juice you are ready to throw the rest away so that you can get started with brewing your own beer.

Step two means buying 4 dozen cans of alcohol-free beer which will need to be poured into a very large plastic container, which has been previously sterilized. The sterilization part is as much fun as everything else, because there is nothing available locally to perform this essential need. Don’t forget that the juice bottles also need to be sterilized.

No problem! All you have to do is buy some baby bottle sterilizing agent when you next fly back home because the country doesn’t seem to have this rather important commodity (It doesn’t matter if you don’t happen to have a baby). At least the product is legal so you won’t have any problems getting it through customs.

Hey! I never said this was the easiest or least time consuming way to make beer did I? Read to the end and I will tell you about an easier way.

Now step 3 can be proceeded with. Add 5ml dried yeast to a little lukewarm sugar water (10ml sugar to 100ml water). it should react within 15 minutes or so with lots of bubbles appearing on the surface.

While you are waiting for the yeast mixture you can get on with step 4. Heat up 1L water, together with 1,5Kg sugar and 500gm honey. As soon as it is nice and hot and the sugar has dissolved properly, you can pour it into the plastic container with the alcohol-free beer.

By this time the yeast mixture should be ready, so add that as well.

Give the container a good shake.

Now you are going to need a balloon – but a condom will do just as well (since I forgot to tell you to buy a party pack of balloons). Using a sharp pointed knife, stick a bunch of holes into the balloon (or condom) and place it over the the containers pouring spout.

In case you are confused, the reason for this is to allow gas to escape but not to enter the container.

You now have to place the container in a dark place on a large plastic sheet at room temperature for two weeks. Expect some of the liquid to overflow during this initial fermentation process.

Hang in there everybody we are almost there!

At the end of those two weeks, you now get to decant your brew into those sterilized juice bottles – use a plastic tube to get the beer running (like when you are trying to suck gas out of your motor vehicle’s tank) – just stay away from the bottom 2cm where all the sediment is.

NO! You are not finished yet.

Add 5ml sugar to each bottle and seal with those handy swing top lids. Now let the bottles stand for at least a week, preferably ten days.

Your homebrew is now ready and needs to be placed upright in a refrigerator to prevent further fermentation BUT it is extremely potent. To drink it you are going to have to mix it half and half with more non-alcoholic beer. The flavor is not perfect either. Definitely not what you are used to.

There is of course a much easier way, especially if you do not live in an Arabian country. You will of course need my simple homebrew recipe guide which is available at no charge whatsoever (I love sharing!) plus the correct beer making equipment and beer brewing ingredients which do not cost very much.

If you are someone that is a connoisseur of beer, then making your own beer might be a good option. If you’ve had enough of the same old tastes at your local watering hole or liquor store, you can make your own at home and become the envy of all of your friends. Brewing your own beer requires a few things in order to make it work. You have to have the right equipment, the proper ingredients for the type of beer that you want to make, and a lot of patience.

Having the right equipment at home is a critical step in the process of making beer. Some of the most necessary items to have at home include the following: a brew pot, a fermenter, some plastic hose, bottles and bottle stoppers just to name a few. When brewing your own beer, the brew pot needs to be large (at least 16 quarts) and it needs to be made out of stainless steel – aluminum will not work. The fermenter needs to be a high quality one made out of plastic that will not allow any bacteria or germs to enter in. The fermenter also needs to be air tight and have a fairly large capacity. The plastic hose is simply used to transfer the beer from one place to another. Once it has been boiled, it will go into the fermenter to sit for a while. The bottles and bottle stoppers are pretty self-explanatory. This is where the beer goes to ferment for a second time. This is also how you will enjoy the delicious brew.

When cooking up the beer, the most important step is to clean and sanitize all of the equipment you will be using. Brewing your own beer can be a fun experience, but if any bacteria gets into the liquid, it can make the fermenting process an ugly one. It is also important to note that cleaning and sanitizing are two different steps. Cleaning is the initial phase, sanitizing is another step after that using bleach or something else along those lines. Actually cooking the beer is a lot easier if you use a beer making kit. That way all of the ingredients are included.

The final stage of brewing your beer is waiting for the beer to ferment and become ready to drink. The initial fermentation can take 5 days or more. Once this is finished the beer is transferred to your bottles and then it needs to ferment again for about two weeks. It is a long time to wait, but making your beer can be well worth it.

Have you ever wanted to make your own beer from home? Not only is it possible for you to do so, but it can be a whole lot of fun and you can save money in the long run as well.

Although many people make the process sound difficult and time-consuming, it is fairly simple to make great tasting beer that you can not only drink but be proud of as well.

Although they may seem blatantly obvious, 3 basic ingredients are needed when brewing your own beer at home:

malt extract

water

brewers yeast

Malt Extracts

Malt extracts are available in both liquid and dry forms. The liquid malt extracts are generally available in the form of a syrup. The advantage of dry extracts is that it is possible to store them longer than the liquid extracts. There are many different types of extracts available to select from – all which depend on the type of beer you would like to make(ales, lagers, ambers, et al).

Water

A lot of water is used in the brewing process, and this happens to be an element of brewing which most people are not aware of. Although you can yield good results using tap water, it is highly recommended that you use spring water for the best results, as there is not any chemicals present in spring water(such as chlorine) which will adversely affect the overall taste of your home brewed beer.

Yeast

Yeast is perhaps the most integral part in brewing your own beer. Yeast is the catalyst which triggers the fermentation process which changes the malts and the sugars into alcohol content. This is ultimately what will release the carbon dioxide, the natural bi-product of the fermentation process which determines the amount of carbonation or “fizz” in your home-brewed beer.

Beer Making Methods

As you research more into the idea of making your own beer from home, you will easily discover that there are literally numerous ways to brew your own beer at home. Once you find a particular method or recipe which is the most appealing to you, as well as the one you are most comfortable with, stick with it. Through trial and error you will find that some ways are quicker than the others, and that there are significant advantages and disadvantages between methods and recipes. Once you take the time to discern your area of expertise, which can be harder than the actual brewing process, you will be on your way to making great beer at home.

Words of Caution

It is of utmost importance that you be attentive to your surroundings when making your own beer from home, and keep the area in which you brew your own beer sanitary. Ensure that all the equipment use is as sterile as possible, because you surely do not want to risk a situation in where the beer becomes tainted and someone gets sick from your home brewed beer.

Brewing your own beer at home is a wonderful way to explore your creativity in beer brewing. It is something that you can get better at fairly quickly over time, and all of drinking buddies will have pleasure in the fact that you can make them a good quality, full tasting beer. Look into it today it is a whole lot of fun!

This is about a beer brewing home project that can be done by anyone with the right equipment and the right ingredients. Beer making has been going on in the urban as well as the rural regions of the world for centuries. Some of them end up as world famous brand names.

If you always had that urge to make your own beer and never knew how to start it, well, here’s your chance. Grab it. Because, beer making has never been so easy and inexpensive that you can practically make your own brew at your very own basement or even in the attic. Now you don’t need anyone to tell you how it should taste like or what the ingredients should be or how much lather it should have, you get to choose what your beer should taste like, look or feel like. You can be your own boss.

All this can be possible with a little research, buying the right equipment and the most important thing of all, buying the right material to start with.

So if you have made up your mind to make your very brew of Beer, here are some of the things that you are going to need. First, you will need a malt extract. Then you will need the right kind of water and then the magic ingredient – the Brewers Yeast!

The malt extracts are usually in syrup form. That is they are pretty viscous in nature. It can be in liquid form, but keep in mind that dry extracts usually last a lot longer than extracts that are more liquid in nature.

Talking about extracts, there are a number of extracts that exist out there so choosing the right one may be a learning experience. But that would give you a lot of options as to what you want your beer to taste like. The best way to buy these ingredients would be to buy them from an online store. This will help you in getting your ‘Beer Making Home Project’ kick started a lot earlier and faster.

Water being the base of beer, it is important to choose the right source for the water. Spring water usually gives the best results. However many people have been rather successful by using tap water. The bottom line being, the type of water chosen is totally up to the beer maker and his taste.

The next most important thing about making beer is the yeast. The yeast is the catalyst that starts the chemical reaction between the malt extracts and the sugar so that alcohol is formed which is the part of the beer that makes you feel real good! The formation of carbon dioxide is what follows next after the formation of alcohol. The carbon dioxide is what gives the fizz effect to the final product.

Making beer at home is fun and it can unleash the creativity that has been kept within you for a long time. It is something where in you can look back and say, you have ‘Been there – Done that’. It can be a memorable moment. And to keep it memorable, you will need to make sure that what ever you do, you should not compromise on the quality of the equipment or the raw materials that go into making that special beer or the final product – the beer itself. You will need to maintain a positive hygienic scenario at your work place. You will need to make sure that your equipment is sterile. All this is just to make sure that the fun never stops with someone tasting your beer and falling ill. After all the idea is to do what you like to do best and share it with everyone. So share it with happiness and pride.
